AIDS Alabama Volunteer Policies
AIDS Alabama welcomes those interested in assisting us in our mission through volunteer work. We have a wide variety of needs, some that don't require much time at all! Volunteering with AIDS Alabama is a unique opportunity to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of Alabamians affected by HIV/AIDS. If you have questions about the volunteer policies outlined below, please contact Dave Bark at dave@aidsalabama.org.
Volunteering Options
Ongoing Volunteer Team
If you are interested in becoming an ongoing volunteer for AIDS Alabama, the first step is to fill out the volunteer application below. AIDS Alabama accepts new volunteers throughout the year during three enrollment periods. Applicants whose application is received before the deadline of the respective enrollment period will be contacted and notified of the next scheduled volunteer orientation. Volunteer orientation is mandatory for all new incoming volunteers. The orientation provides an opportunity for you to learn more about our organization and what we do, as well as current volunteer opportunities so that you can indicate which areas interest you the most!
Spring Enrollment Application Deadline: April 1st
(orientation held in May)
Summer/Fall Enrollment Application Deadline: August 1st
(orientation held in September)
Winter Enrollment Application Deadline: December 1st
(orientation held in January)
One-Time/Project Volunteers
If you are not interested in volunteering on an ongoing basis, but would like to volunteer on a one-time individual or group project, please fill out the volunteer project below. AIDS Alabama accepts one-time volunteers throughout the year, and can provide a project for volunteers to work on, or will consider outside project ideas from individuals or groups. Examples of projects undertaken in the past include: arts/crafts projects with residents, group outings, outdoor beautification projects, and more. There is no deadline for one-time volunteer applications.
